Bridging psychotherapy, somatic healing,
and ancestral wisdom traditions
Based in Austin, Texas Available online and in-person.
Crystal L. Peña is an Andean medicine carrier with Coahuiltecan roots. She weaves ancestral Curanderismo practices in relationship with elders and teachers from Mayan, Mexica, Shipibo, and Q'ero Andean traditions. These practices are ancient and living, and she approaches them with humility, continued learning, and deep gratitude to the lineages and communities who carry and transmit them. Through somatic therapies rooted in curanderismo, ancestral medicine, and trauma-informed care, she supports emotional recovery, embodiment, and wholeness. Her work is grounded in years of experience across clinical mental health training and practice, dance/movement therapy practice and teachings, and her doctoral studies as a PhD student in Integral Studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), focused on Indigenous healing and knowledge systems.
